All recipesPasta ClubCajun Cheeseburger Pasta40 min 4 portionsSave recipeJoin to planI cooked thisPrint cardIngredientsCooking for44 5% fat beef burgers300g fusilli pasta1 red onion, diced½ red pepper, sliced½ yellow pepper, sliced100g mushrooms, sliced (optional)2 tsp Cajun seasoning1 tsp Italian seasoning or oregano1 tsp smoked paprika1 tsp garlic purée1 tbsp tomato purée100ml red wine500g passata200ml milk50ml double cream1 handful chopped gherkinsA few pickled jalapeños, chopped (optional)1 splash jalapeño juice from the jar (optional)80g grated cheddarBurger sauce to drizzleMethod1Cook the fusilli in boiling water until tender. Drain and set aside.2Break the burgers into a large frying pan and cook like mince.3Add the diced red onion and cook for a few minutes until softened.4Add the sliced red and yellow peppers and cook for a few minutes.5Add the mushrooms if using and cook until softened.6Stir in the Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika and garlic.7Add the tomato purée and cook for a minute.8Pour in the red wine and let it bubble for a minute to deglaze the pan.9Stir in the passata, milk and Elmlea cream.10Add the chopped jalapeños and a splash of the jalapeño juice if using for a nice tang.11Let the sauce simmer gently for around 20 minutes until thickened.12Add the cooked pasta and toss everything together.13Stir through most of the grated cheese until melted.14Serve topped with extra cheese, chopped gherkins and a drizzle of burger sauce.#BeefComments Sign in to leave a comment.Be the first to leave a note.
