Rub your steaks with a little vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.3Place your steaks in the pan and don’t move them. For rare steak, cook for 3 minutes a side. For medium-rare, 4 minutes. For medium, 5 minutes. For medium-well done, 6 minutes.4Take your steaks out of the pan and cover them with a bowl; rest for at least 5 minutes.5While the steaks are resting, make the sauce.
