Creamy steak pasta

Method

   Cook the penne in boiling water to the packet instructions

   Meanwhile rub both steaks with some oil, salt and pepper

   Fry the steaks in a little butter for 5 minutes per side (for a medium doneness), remove from the pan to rest

   In the same pan add the onion, mushrooms and garlic purée. Fry for a few minutes then add the parsley, oregano and chilli flakes, and some black pepper.

   Once the pasta is cooked, drain and set aside but reserve some of the cooking water

   Add the beef stock, Parmesan and double cream to the onion and mushrooms and mix well

   Reserve some of the sauce for later, then add the cooked pasta (and the reserved water) to the sauce and mix well

   Slice the steaks and serve on a bed of pasta and top with the rest of the sauce
