Best ever arrabbiata sauce

Method

   Fry off the red onion on a low to medium heat in the oil until softened

   Add the garlic purée, oregano, basil, chilli flakes and a pinch of salt and pepper, mix together and fry for a few more minutes

   Next, add the tomato purée and fry until all mixed in

4. 4

   Then add the plum tomatoes, half fill the tin with water and add that too

5. 5

   Break the tomatoes down as they cook

   Mix in the sugar and the balsamic and leave to simmer stirring occasionally for around 30 minutes

   Serve with your favourite pasta dish or batch cook, freeze and save for a later date!
