Slow cooker lazy cottage pie

Method

   Place the beef in the slow cooker and brown it if your device has a sauté or fry function. If not, you can do this step in a separate pan.

   Once browned, add the onion, carrot, and garlic, along with some cracked black pepper, tomato purée, chopped tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.

   Add the beef stock pot and fill the empty tomato tin with water before adding that as well.

   Stir everything well, then add the potatoes, stir ensuring they are completely covered, add the bay leaf on top if using.

   Cover with the lid and cook on low for eight hours or on high for four hours until everything is tender.

   Ten minutes before the cooking time is up, add the frozen peas, stir, and replace the lid to let the peas cook.

   Serve in four bowls and enjoy!
