All recipesComfort ClubSlow cooker beef brisket8 hrs 4 portionsSave recipeJoin to planI cooked thisPrint cardYearly members: printable PDFIngredientsCooking for41.5-2kg beef brisket or beef roasting joint1/2 tsp black pepper1 tsp mixed herbs1 tsp garlic granules3 onions, roughly chopped1 mini bottle red wine2 bay leaves1 beef stock pot250g passata500ml water1 tbsp tomato puree1 tbsp balsamic vinegar1 tbsp BBQ sauce1 tbsp Cajun seasoning2 tsp dried parsley3 squares dark chocolate or 2 tsp sugarMethod1Season the beef with the black pepper, mixed herbs, and garlic granules and rub it all in well2Add some oil to a frying pan and fry off all sides of the beef so it's nice and golden brown, then remove the beef from the pan and place into the slow cooker (pan fry in batches if your pan is small)3Next, add the onions into the same pan and just soften them in the beef juices4Add the onions to the slow cooker, then add the wine, bay leaves, stock pot, passata, water, tomato puree, balsamic vinegar, BBQ sauce, Cajun seasoning, dried parsley, and chocolate5Mix everything together and make sure the beef is coated and covered, then put the lid on6Cook on high for 8-10 hours (and you can definitely leave it even longer!), or low for 5-6 hours7Once it's ready, you should be able to easily pull it apart using tongs or a couple of forks8Note: There are lots of ways to enjoy this!
