Five guys' double grilled cheeseburger

Method

   In a frying pan, cook the onions on a low heat with the oil and a pinch of salt, stirring now and again until caramelised. You can add a splash of water towards the end to help them along

   Split the burgers in half and fry until cooked on both sides, smash them down as they cook to make them thinner, top with the fried onions and set aside

   Spread the mayonnaise on the insides of 4 of the burger buns then add them, inner side down to the pan to toast, remove and set aside

   Now with the remaining two buns, spread the insides with mayo, add to a pan insides down, then start to assemble the burgers with a cheese slice first, then a burger and onions, mustard if using, then the middle bun with another cheese slice and the remaining burger and onions, ketchup, and the final bun on top

   Wrap in tin foil and air fry or oven bake on 180 for a couple of minutes so that everything melts together and enjoy!
