Five Guys Burger And Cajun Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 baking potato, skin on
  • 1 tsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 beef burger patty (I used an Aldi 5% fat one)
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1 sesame brioche bun
  • 1 cheese slice
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp light mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp American mustard
  • Your choice of burger toppings (I like lettuce and tomato)

Method

  1. For the cajun fries, slice the potato into chips, keeping skin on
  2. rinse with water to get rid of some starch and pat dry
  3. season the chips with salt and pepper, coat in a little oil and the Cajun seasoning
  4. place the chips in the air fryer at 180°C for 25 minutes
  5. for the burger, fry off the onions in a little oil until caramelised with a pinch of sugar and salt, add a splash of water to help them along, and set aside
  6. bash down the burger patty to make a little thinner and fry on both sides until cooked, you could also bash it down while its cooking instead, meanwhile toast the bun
  7. assemble the burger with the bun, patty, sauces, cheese, toppings and fried onions
  8. wrap the burger in tin foil and place in the air fryer with the cooked chips for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese
  9. serve all together!
