2 white onions (red or white can be used) roughly chopped
1 mini bottle red wine
2 bay leaves
1 beef stock pot
250g passata
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp bbq sauce
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
2 tsp dried parsley
2 squares dark chocolate (or 1 tsp white/brown sugar)
Method
First, season the beef with the black pepper, mixed herbs, and garlic granules
Add some oil to a frying pan and fry off all sides of the beef so it's nice and golden brown
Next, add in the onions and just soften them
Add in the wine, bay leaves, stock pot, passata, tomato puree, balsamic vinegar, BBQ sauce, Cajun seasoning, and dried parsley, then top the pot up with water so that the beef is covered
Put in the oven for around 3-4 hours at 150°C
Once it's ready, you should be able to easily pull it apart using tongs or a couple of forks and mix the beef back into the gravy to soak up the delicious sauce
If it's not quite there after 4 hours, just leave it in for a little longer.
